Club History

The Manukau 4WD Club has been operating for more than 30 years. In that time the club has created a tremendous amount of interest in four wheel driving. Vehicles have been developed, modified and upgraded. In the early days Land Rovers dominated the scene, whereas today we have more Suzukis, Homebuilts, Nissans and Toyotas. Children have learnt to drive and gone onto become successful rally and bush drivers.

The Club has always actively encouraged full participation from all family members.

More recently, we have focused on developing, what is generally referred to in 4wd circles as, the Shiny Truck and have therefore included more Forest and Farm runs, as they are more suitable for this type of vehicle and where panel scratchings is not likely to happen.

Club Objectives

To engage in, develop and encourage the sport of off road recreation and four wheel drive activities in New Zealand. Promote social activities and good fellowship amongst the members and others, and to provide entertainment for members and their families.
